With the acceleration of automation processes, the number of data centers and data center constructions continues to rise, and data center maintenance and monitoring have gradually become important issues. Especially the monitoring of IT infrastructure, such as batteries UPS、 The normal operation of air conditioning, cabinets and other equipment is the guarantee for the uninterrupted operation of IT equipment. So we need to collect and monitor the operating status of these devices in real time, and it is also a challenge for the comprehensive cabling in the data center. The R-8000 series distributed acquisition module has become one of the choices for data center environment monitoring due to its reliability and low price.

Scheme Introduction

In the computer room environment monitoring system, there are several devices whose data needs to be collected and monitored:

1. AC distribution cabinet system (R-8073)

1) The system should be able to monitor the status of power distribution in the computer room. To ensure the stability of the electrical equipment in the entire computer room. For example: three-phase phase voltage, phase current, line voltage, line current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, frequency, power factor, kWh, etc;

2) The system can trigger alarms for high or low voltage, excessive current, and unstable frequency;

In this subsystem, the R-8073 power acquisition module from Jizhida can be selected to collect parameters such as three-phase phase voltage, phase current, line voltage, line current, active power, reactive power, apparent power, frequency, power factor, and electric degree, and transmit these data to the upper computer in real-time through the RS485 bus using the MODBUS RTU protocol. The upper computer records these data in real time and alerts for excessive voltage and current.

2. UPS distribution and battery pack subsystem (R-8017B)

1) Real time online monitoring of individual battery voltage, total voltage, current, and ambient temperature

2) The total voltage, individual voltage, and temperature exceed the alarm value and automatically trigger an alarm. The threshold can be set.

3) Monitor the voltage at the output load terminal of the circuit breaker.

The R-8017B module of Jizhida can collect the above-mentioned current and voltage. The 8017B is an 8-channel analog acquisition module, and each channel can independently set the range, which means that it can collect both current and voltage, making it convenient for customers' on-site applications and reducing costs. For larger currents, an external current transformer can be used to convert the large current into 4-20mA for acquisition.

3. Computer room and cabinet temperature and humidity acquisition subsystem (R-8017B)

1) The system can monitor the temperature and humidity of the computer room in real time, display and record its operating data.

2) According to the pre-set settings, the system can automatically set alarms for abnormal temperature and humidity parameters and status in the computer room;

Currently, most temperature and humidity transmitters have outputs of 4-20mA or 0-5V, and choosing R-8017B can also meet the acquisition requirements.

4. Fire water leakage and smoke monitoring subsystem (R-8053)

1) The system monitors the possible water leakage areas in the computer room in real time through leakage ropes, displays and records their operational data;

2) Preventing fires through smoke sensors;

The switch signal feedback from devices such as water leakage alarm and smoke sensor can be collected and transmitted to the upper computer through the R-8053 module.

5. Precision air conditioning subsystem (R-8520)

1) The system should be able to monitor the operating status and parameters of various components of the computer room air conditioning. For example, the operation or shutdown status of components such as compressors, filters, fans, heaters, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and ventilation devices can be viewed in real-time by administrators through the network to monitor the operating parameters of the air conditioning system;

The operating parameters related to air conditioning are transmitted to the upper computer through the RS485 interface using the MODBUS protocol, but the upper computer usually has an RS232 interface. Therefore, an R-8520 RS232 to RS485 module with isolation is selected for interface conversion. The RS485 bus for access control and clock in devices can also be converted by R-8520

6. Fresh air subsystem and access control subsystem (R-8060)

It can monitor the status of the fresh air fan in real time, and automatically turn off the fresh air fan in case of a fire.

The switch signal of the operating status of the fresh air fan can be collected through the R-8060 module, and the relay on the 8060 module can also control the operation and stop of the fresh air fan.

7. Upper computer system (IPC-800) (PCI-1208IU)

You can choose Jizhida's IPC-800 as the upper computer, and the IPC-600E is equipped with a PCI-1208IU multi serial port card internally, which can meet the connection requirements between the upper computer and other serial devices in the computer room.
